The Phuket Has Been Good To Us Foundation works to improve the economic opportunities and life chances of young people, by funding and implementing high quality, practical English language education in government schools on Phuket Island. The Phuket Has Been Good to Us Foundation is committed to furthering the United Nations Millennium Development Goals. We are particularly focused on furthering Goal #2: Universal Primary Education by 2015 by providing the gift of education to children and making an extraordinary impact on this global issue. Phuket Has Been Good to Us Foundation is a Thai registered charity.
PHBGTU Foundation was established after the Asian Tsunami in 2004. The Foundation is committed to the support and development of Phuket's children by providing quality English language education, extra-curricular activities, and encouraging the social growth of underprivileged children in government schools. The Foundation teaches English as part of the national curriculum to over 600 students in two schools in Phuket. We also run an after school and weekend program called Coconut Club for 150 residential students who live at Kamala School. These students are orphaned or have families who are not able to take care of them. After school, the children come to the club where we provide an array of fun activities like arts and crafts, sports, music, and games. On the weekends we run a swim club as well as doing photography and art workshops.
